1. What do we need to do to make a booking?
A complete services agreement and €400 booking fee is all that is required. The booking fee secures your date and goes towards processing your booking and any consultations by email, phone or in person. Your booking fee is non refundable under all circumstances but is deducted from your remaining balance payable before your wedding. Your booking fee can be paid by card online or at a meeting.
2. Can you hold our date provisionally?
It happens that I might have more than one enquiry for the same date and to avoid disappointment I don’t hold dates without a service agreement and deposit.
3. Do you have backup equipment?
Yes. I probably have too much! I carry multiple lenses and bodies with me to each wedding so coverage would not be affected if there was an issue.
4. How long before I get my pictures?
Post processing generally takes between 4-8 weeks but during and after peak season it may extend to 10 weeks.
5. Can we give you a list of shots we want?
We can discuss this during your pre wedding consultation. The style for a large portion of my wedding days is photojournalistic documentary, pretty much everyone books me for the free flowing style, minimal formals and modern portraits, the documentary side of it requires me to be watching and waiting for moments to happen and if I spend the day working off a list the results are very different, so the answer is yes, but only for family formals. I will always be happy to chat to you about shots you might like to get.
6. If we book a digital only option, can we buy an album after the wedding?
Yes. Not everyone knows what they are going to want before the wedding, so I do have digital only options for that very reason. If you don’t choose an album included as part of your package, you can purchase an album up to 12 months after your wedding.
7. Can we order professional prints from you?
Of course! You will receive your full gallery by private link where you can order professional prints directly and have them delivered to you within 10 days.
8. Can we print our own photos?
Yes. You will receive the days print ready, high resolution images for your own personal use. I always recommend that you get your prints from a professional lab to ensure correct colours and quality archival paper and inks so your memories will last a lifetime.
9. When is the balance due?
Most people pay their wedding balance a few weeks before the wedding, but it needs to be cleared by the pre wedding meeting on the week of your wedding at the latest. If your album is not included in your package, the total for your album order must be paid in full before it is sent for print.
10. How long do albums take?
Once sent for print, I will generally have the albums back to me within 6-8 weeks, sometimes less.
11. Do you have a second shooter?
No. I find I can easily cover a wedding day. I find that a second shooter can be a little more intrusive than I’d like on your wedding day. That said if you require a second photographer for grooms preps, contact me and I will see what can be done.
12. If I’m sick, what happens…?
I’m happy to say I have a great network of professional wedding photographers that I could rely on to shoot your wedding in the event I was too sick to attend a wedding. I will do everything I can to find you a really great replacement should I not be able to shoot your wedding. Only someone that would have a very similar style and approach to me would be asked to step in. This would also only be someone I would trust to shoot my own wedding!
13. Do you edit the photos or do further enhancements like skin retouching or blemish removal?
All images are processed using the latest software to achieve my signature style of editing. If there are further enhancements or retouching required, these can be quoted accordingly. Skin retouching, background removal or changes or vanity edits are not included in my editing.
14. We are just recently engaged, when should we book?
I book weddings as far out as three years, it is recommended to secure your booking as soon as you can. If you really like my style, quite a few check availability before booking their hotel, just so they can be sure to have the services they are after.
15. We are thinking of hiring a videographer.
I can offer some really great recommendations for videographers that have a very discreet approach and one that very much compliments my style. Make sure to ask me about this.
16. Can you offer recommendations for other services for our wedding?
Yes. I get to see a lot that happens in wedding days, the good suppliers usually stick in my head and I see quite a few of them often during the year. I would be happy to recommend someone that I know would do an amazing job for your wedding.
17. Pre wedding consultation… Whats involved?
This is generally a catchup to discuss the more formal parts of the day, it can be done on the phone on the week leading to your wedding day. If you feel more comfortable with an in person meeting that can be accommodated in office by appointment. It is generally a chat about the timeline of your day and so we are all singing off the same sheet, so to speak!
18. Are you insured?
Yes! I always hold full professional insurance that covers public liability and professional indemnity. Some opw sites require a copy of insurance for shoot access, drop me an email if your location requires insurance.
19. Location Permission.
I can offer recommendations for preferred conditions for locations that we can use on the day and what generally works best. It is your responsibility to acquire whatever permissions are required for access. I am always happy to chat to you about all parts of your day. Opw or private sites will usually require written permission and as mentioned above maybe insurance. I have the insurance, you guys just need to make sure you have permission to have your wedding photos taken there.
