There are a few things to consider when handling and storing your wedding album.
Avoid Heat, Humidity & Strong Light
Always lay your album flat when you are looking at it, clean dry table is best.
Clean hands – Clean album!
If you get some light dirt or smudge on any of the pages, a dry lint free cloth is the best way to clean, do not scrub hard on the surface as it can damage the lamination.
Don’t store your album in the attic! Your bedroom might be the best place, like a wardrobe press that has plenty of room temperature air in circulation.
Sunlight can cause two issues. Fading over shorter time and it can damage the lamination if your album gets hot enough.
Humidity can cause page warp, if you notice this it usually sorts itself out by moving it to a drier location after a few days. Severe humidity can cause permanent warp.
When turning the pages, take care not to use fingernails as this may damage the edges. Instead, use your fingertips to turn the pages.
When moving the album or box, Lift – Don’t Slide! The materials used can scratch or wear quicker if there is something on the surface that might do damage to it.
Taking these precautions will help you preserve your memories in this lovely keepsake that will be passed down generation after generation.
