Lauren & Dermot’s wedding was beautiful, the day itself (weatherwise) was actually exceptional, one of the really good ones of summer 2018! Both Lauren, Dermot and their respective families and friends were an absolute treasure to be around and made the day a breeze for me and were so welcoming! A few words from the happy couple with some of their images below.
How The Morning Went: My morning was very relaxed and included quality time spent with family, friends and my four legged friends. Pancakes were on the menu and kept us going until we could fill our stomachs with sweets from the sweet-cart and canapés at the drinks reception. We enjoyed a spin to meet the horse and carriage in my grandad’s vintage bmw convertible, which he reckons I’ve to pay him commission for!
How Ceremony Went: The ceremony was full of happiness, laughter and tears of joy. My cousins Emer and Sarah did such a wonderful job with the music. I am also very proud of my brother, James, who read his reading ‘as Gaeilge’.
How Photoshoot/Drinks Reception Went: Ed was the most amazing photographer. We chose him on recommendation from a family member and can’t praise him enough. The photoshoot was very relaxed with formal photographs kept short and sweet. No request was too much and he even included my horses and dog in the morning photographs. Ed captured the day in such a relaxed manner, you’d have to double check he was still there! He of course was, and photographed every little detail beautifully. We love looking back on the photographs to remember the special moments and to see the delight on everyone’s faces. The weather was glorious and we were lucky to have our drinks reception outside looking onto the lake with entertainment from the talented Abú and my uncle Seámus who, as always, had everyone in stitches.
Meal/First Dance: Our meal and the service from The Lodge at Ashford Castle was perfect. Fergal and Claire were integral to the smooth running of the day. The venue was very special to Dermot and I and was where we went on one of our very first dates all those years ago. Our band kept the floor going all night, and we managed not to step on each others toes for our first dance!
Special thanks! My grooms Aoife McLaughlin, Kitty Harburn and Fionnuala McLaughlin who turned out my horses beautifully!
